There are many types of agricultural plastic films, each with different functions. Furthermore, the thickness of the Greenhouse film is closely related to crop growth.

Greenhouse films are plastic products. In summer, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause them to age and become brittle, which is also related to their thickness. Excessively thick films will cause aging, while thin films will not provide effective temperature control.
Furthermore, the thickness of the greenhouse film is also related to the type of crop. Different crops and flowers require different greenhouse film products based on their growth habits.
Currently, the four main types of agricultural films commonly used in Hydroponic Greenhouse projects that offer good light transmission and long lifespan are:
1. Ordinary ethylene film: Poor light and temperature performance, lifespan of 120-150 days, suitable for only one crop, high cost, and poor economic benefits.
2. Polyethylene anti-aging film: Comparable to ordinary polyethylene film in terms of light and temperature performance, drip resistance, and vegetable yield, but its lifespan can be more than doubled when used for two consecutive crops in a greenhouse. 3. Polyethylene Anti-Aging Film: With a lower depreciation cost per acre, it can be applied to large, medium, and small greenhouses.
3. Polyethylene Anti-Aging Film with Drip-Reducing Properties: Its aging resistance lifespan is comparable to polyethylene anti-aging film, but due to its drip-reducing properties, it has better temperature and light performance, resulting in a significant yield increase. Initially, light transmittance increases by 8%-15%. After two consecutive crops, the light transmittance is comparable to anti-aging film, at 50%-60%. The average minimum temperature increases by 0.3-0.4℃, and most water droplets on the film surface can flow down. The drip-reducing effect lasts for 90-120 days. Vegetable yield is 15%-20% higher. Polyethylene anti-aging film with drip-reducing properties can be widely promoted and applied to large, medium, and small greenhouses.
4. Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate and Polyethylene Three-Layer Co-Extruded Anti-Drip Insulation Film with Anti-Aging Properties: With a lifespan comparable to polyethylene anti-aging film, the cost of removing old film per acre is slightly higher. Initially, light transmittance increases by 12%-15%. The average temperature is 1-1.1℃ higher, resulting in a 17%-25% higher yield. Multifunctional film has the slow release of anti-drip agents, low dust absorption, and light transmittance and aging resistance of film, which are comparable to those of film after covering the greenhouse. It has the best temperature and light performance, the highest yield, and good aging resistance and anti-fogging properties among existing films. Intelligent greenhouses represent the development direction of greenhouse film and are the ideal covering film for large and medium-sized greenhouses.
