Analysis of Common Problems in Greenhouse Construction

In recent years, the construction of Commercial Greenhouse has gradually increased. However, in some areas, local natural conditions are often overlooked during Greenhouse construction.

This has resulted in many problems, not only shortening the lifespan and practicality of the Commercial Greenhouse but also reducing vegetable yield and quality, causing unnecessary economic losses.
Therefore, we remind vegetable farmers in various regions to pay attention to the common problems and precautions in current Greenhouse construction to avoid such issues.
1. Insufficient open space between two Commercial Greenhouse will affect sunlight. Vegetables will suffer from "low-temperature barrier" due to excessively low temperatures. Simultaneously, vegetables cannot photosynthesize properly due to lack of sunlight, resulting in emaciated and even starving vegetables.
2. Lack of drainage systems can easily cause Greenhouse collapse or widespread root rot and plant death in the rainy season, leading to significant economic losses.
3. Lack of protective measures for the Greenhouse's rear wall can easily shorten its service life.
4. The last two rows of columns inside the Greenhouse are too far apart, resulting in insufficient pressure resistance. Commercial Greenhouse should use steel pipes as the framework, with the tallest column inside reaching 5.8 meters (burying approximately 60 centimeters underground), and the back wall height around 4.5 meters.
5. Excessive excavation inside the Greenhouse is detrimental to vegetable growth. A depth of 0.5-1.2 meters is most appropriate. During Greenhouse construction, it must be emphasized that soil for the walls should be excavated from the open space in front of the Greenhouse, with the excavation depth depending on the situation, generally at least 0.5 meters. This construction method results in a depth of less than 0.6 meters at the front of the Greenhouse, reducing the shading area while improving the Greenhouse's insulation performance.
6. After utilizing the topsoil for the walls during Greenhouse construction, the exposed surface is a layer of virgin soil with low organic matter content, lack of beneficial microorganisms, and poor aeration. Without modification, the growth of seasonal vegetables will be affected, leading to significant economic losses.
7. Greenhouse construction should always adhere to the principle of "adapting to local conditions." For example, in areas with shallow topsoil and low water tables, it is necessary to avoid building "semi-underground" Commercial Greenhouse and to prevent the construction of "cellar-style" Commercial Greenhouse. The depth of excavation should be minimized or the Commercial Greenhouse should be built directly on the surface.
