Recently, the Liangping Smart Irrigation Project of Chongqing Qingcheng Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Qingcheng Agriculture") was successfully launched and put into operation. The project closely follows the unique topography of Chongqing's mountainous and hilly areas, integrating core technologies such as pipeline transportation, automatic water purification and filtration, electromagnetic zone control, and intelligent electrical control. It has tailored a modern water-saving irrigation solution suitable for large-scale orchards in mountainous areas, using intelligent and refined water and fertilizer management models to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional agriculture in the region towards efficient, energy-saving, and intensive modern agriculture.

The orchards in the Liangping area are scattered, with varying terrain, making the drawbacks of traditional flood irrigation and manual watering methods prominent. For a long time, low water resource utilization and insufficient irrigation uniformity have been widespread problems. This not only leads to significant water waste but also easily results in uneven crop water supply and inconsistent growth. Furthermore, the high cost and low efficiency of manual management make it difficult to meet the needs of standardized, large-scale modern forestry and fruit cultivation.

Addressing the common irrigation pain points and operation and maintenance challenges in mountainous agriculture in Southwest China, Qingcheng Agriculture, based on the actual project conditions, abandoned generic irrigation solutions and carried out customized system planning. It completed the one-stop design of water source purification, pipeline network layout, intelligent zoning, and electrical control system integration, balancing equipment operational stability, water-saving economy, and convenient later operation and maintenance, thus providing solid technical support for precision irrigation in mountainous orchards.

During the project implementation process, Qingcheng Agriculture coordinated the material supply, on-site delivery, and engineering preparation work to ensure the efficient and orderly progress of the project. This project utilizes PE pressure pipes that meet national standards. The pipes possess excellent pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, and aging resistance, making them suitable for complex operating environments such as open-air and underground installations. They can withstand long-term natural conditions such as mountainous terrain subsidence and temperature variations, ensuring the service life and operational stability of the irrigation network from the outset.

Standardized construction techniques were strictly followed at the construction site, with quality control maintained throughout the entire process. The technical team employed professional hot-melt welding to complete pipe connections, ensuring tight seals and secure connections at pipe joints, effectively preventing leaks and damage caused by mountainous terrain subsidence and external pressure. After the pipeline laying was completed, the construction team systematically installed and commissioned the zoned electromagnetic control valve assemblies. Utilizing intelligent electromagnetic drive units, remote start/stop and zoned control of the irrigation system were achieved, allowing for independent water supply regulation based on different planting areas and crop types.

A concurrently constructed sand and gravel filtration system continuously purifies the irrigation water source, intercepting sediment and impurities, fundamentally reducing the probability of drip irrigation pipe blockage and ensuring the long-term stable operation of the entire irrigation system. Meanwhile, the electrical control cabinet, integrating frequency conversion regulation, circuit protection, and intelligent monitoring functions, has been commissioned and put into operation. As the core hub of the entire system, it enables intelligent and precise control of irrigation pressure, irrigation duration, and water supply frequency, successfully establishing a complete intelligent system from the control room to the irrigation field.

After the smart irrigation system was fully implemented, it completely revolutionized the traditional, extensive manual irrigation model. Maintenance personnel can flexibly adjust irrigation strategies based on crop growth cycles, soil moisture, and real-time weather conditions, achieving on-demand water supply and precise replenishment. Through independent irrigation in different zones, it effectively solves the problems of uneven water pressure and irrigation imbalance caused by elevation differences in mountainous areas, significantly saving water resources, reducing water and fertilizer losses, and ensuring uniform water supply and balanced growth throughout the orchard. Simultaneously, the routine operation of the water purification and filtration system effectively reduces pipe blockage and equipment failure frequency, significantly lowering later maintenance costs and reducing manual management pressure, making irrigation management in large-scale mountain orchards more efficient and worry-free.

The successful implementation of the Liangping Smart Irrigation Project marks a significant step in Qingcheng Agriculture's deep commitment to smart agriculture in the mountainous regions of Southwest China. Breaking away from the traditional model of simply supplying equipment, the company has developed a comprehensive service chain integrating customized solutions, material support, standardized construction, system debugging, and ongoing maintenance. This capability is highly adaptable to the specific needs of the mountainous and hilly planting environments in the Sichuan-Chongqing region.
In the future, Qingcheng Agriculture will continue to leverage the unique characteristics of agriculture in Southwest China, continuously optimizing and iterating its smart water-saving irrigation solutions for mountainous areas. By employing intelligent water conservancy technologies and standardized engineering services, Qingcheng Agriculture aims to empower the upgrading of traditional agriculture, helping the region achieve diversified development goals of water conservation, increased efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
